Food supplements testing
Dietary supplements are considered to be foods intended to supplement the usual diet, representing concentrated sources of nutrients or other substances of nutritional or physiological effect, individually or in combination, on the market in a dosed form or forms such as capsules, pastilles, tablets, pills and similar, bags of powder, ampoules of liquid, dropper bottles and other similar forms of liquid and powder. Dietary supplements are considered to be preparations produced from concentrated sources of nutrients (vitamins and minerals) or other substances with a nutritional or physiological effect.
Sample Control Laboratory has accredited the analysis of vitamins and minerals (elements) in dietary supplements and also conducts the analysis of active substances in herbal preparations as specific markers unique to natural products (bioflavonoids, anthocyanins, propolis, stevia, carotenoids, polyphenols, catechins, capsaicin, etc.).
The laboratory has developed many other robust and reliable analytical methods for a range of natural and plant products and raw materials.
Based on strong analytical support, we are also able to respond to the latest guidelines from competent authorities regarding the setting of tolerances for nutrient values declared on products.
Sample Control Laboratory also provides its users with a complete analysis of cannabinoids in dietary supplements. This is due to the fact that the requirements for timely, accurate cannabis testing results are more significant than ever, as the increase in demand grows and regulations continue to evolve. For this purpose, the laboratory accredited the method of determining THC and CBD in food and cosmetics using the method of ultra-performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS).
The instruments used to analyse dietary supplements include HPLC-UV/FLD/RID, UPLC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS, AAS, HPLC-ICP-MS.
